WordSmith WA—Frequently asked questions
Q: Why do I need the services of WordSmith WA when I have a spell-checker on my computer?

A: A spell-checker will not correct for complex grammar or usage, or for consistency, repetition or formatting. For example, the difference between 'their', 'they're' and 'there' may not b picked up and would jar with the reader if not in the correct context.  Remember that a professional image requires consideration of all these details.

Q: Why do I need to pay you to check work I can do myself?

A: A fresh pair of eyes easily picks up errors a preparer would never see, as document owners tend to read what they think should be there, not what is actually written.

Q:  How can I pay?

A: WordSmith WA accepts cash, personal cheques and direct funds transfer.
In most cases, a deposit may be required before work commences.

Q: Do you respect the confidentiality of my work?

A: Confidentiality is taken very seriously and WordSmith WA will not disclose the content of any material submitted.  Material will be destroyed or deleted upon completion of the job as instructed.

Q: Do you issue tax invoices for GST?

A: An invoice will be issued detailing the ABN; however, no GST is charged as WordSmith WA is not registered for GST.

Q: Will WordSmith WA pick up all errors?

A: While WordSmith WA endeavours to identify and correct as many errors and omissions as possible, the reality is that no single review process will pick up 100% of corrections, especially in large or complex documents. Remember also that there may be more than one correct answer and often the choice of narrative is down to personal preference and interpretation.
